Wine and sulfites…

I just read a great post over at the Palate Press that explains the wine and sulfites story better than I ever could. The post is titled – Wine and Sulfites:  The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Check it out. You will get a much better understanding of the relationship between wine and sulfites. After reading it, I felt pretty good about the wines I choose, since I’ve always been sensitive to sulfite overuse.

Most of the wines in the Rad Grapes portfolio are chosen because they are hand-crafted, artisanal, wholesome wines.  The focus is on the fruit, not “manufacturing wines”…We have producers that use sustainable farming as well as organic and biodynamic and all use little to no added sulfites – like Hopler. Jost and Christof Hopler add no sulfites to their wines. It pays to look for the good wines made by the smaller producers in order to get the best tasting and more wholesome wines. They also happen to taste better than the mass produced and manufactured wines…
